The Pitch

Short version for a caption, long version for a write-up.

Halloween night, 1987: three teenagers took a dare, walked into the Blackwood house at 1428 Hollow Street and never came out. Thirty-nine years later the dare falls to you — and this time you walk every room yourself.

The Last House on Hollow Street is a first-person horror game for Windows. You walk up Hollow Street in the fog, open the gate, try the door, and stand in the foyer where the clock stopped at 12:07. Sign the guest book on the porch and the house uses your name — on the walls, on a flyer, in a voice that says it more gently each time. Eleanor hunts by sound: run and she hears you; hide, hold your breath, and listen to her listen. The animals outside will tell her where you are.

The house keeps count of your nights. It remembers where you hid and what frightened you, and it will not look there first this time. Each night it draws its own handful of events from more than a hundred, so no two nights match, and ten endings wait at the end of them — some only open if you do something no one would think to do, some only if you keep coming back. The free demo is the first part of the night; the full game is the whole house, the cellar and the tunnels under the street, the corn maze, the well, and the barn across the fields where a patrol car from 1987 still turns its light.

Why Cover It

Six angles, all player-facing.

📝

It learns your name

Sign the guest book and the house uses your name on the walls, on a flyer and out loud. Few horror games address the player this directly.

👂

It hunts by sound — and can hear your room

Eleanor tracks noise, not sight lines. With optional microphone input the house can hear the player; with optional Twitch chat voting the audience takes part.

🎲

Never the same night twice

More than a hundred possible events; the house picks its own handful each night and remembers the nights before. Ten endings.

🎃

Halloween-date mode

On October 31st the house knows what night it is — a built-in reason to play it on the night.

🎬

No cutaways, your intensity

When something comes at you, the camera stays on it. The Startle setting (Full / Reduced / Off) lets players and streamers choose the intensity without losing the dread.

📖

A story app that became a house

The original Hollow Street is a free, fully voiced choose-your-path mystery for Android and the browser. Same street, same night, now in first person.

Streaming & Video

Yes to all of it.

Stream it, record it, monetise it. No permission is needed for Let's Plays, reviews, Shorts, clips or thumbnails. The game is built with streams in mind:
